When I begin a home organizing project either with a client or in my own home, I go straight to my favorite organizing supplies first.  I am so excited to share some of these organizing tools with you. My main goal when purchasing items is to make sure it can be used many different ways.   All of these items can be used in different areas of your home from your kitchen to your child’s playroom.  I am constantly moving things around from room to room to see where it fits best.  Without further ado, let’s begin!

1. BASKETS

I. LOVE. BASKETS. I don’t think I need to go into too much detail about how to use these! You can find baskets in all shapes in sizes all over my house.  Baskets can be used in almost any space around your home.  They are great for organizing kid’s toys or holding extra blankets in your living room. No matter what the space is, I can bet there is a basket in the right shape and color to fit your needs! I typically find great deals on baskets at Target and IKEA.

2. LABEL MAKER

This is one tool I can’t live without. I might love labels more than I love baskets 🙂 I own this particular label maker.  When I am organizing a space, I label EVERYTHING. Labels are important because not only do they remind you where everything belongs, but they also help the rest of your family put things back in the correct spot. Labels can be used in your pantry, on files, or even in your bathroom.  A label maker isn’t the only way I use labels. I will chat more about labels in a future post.

3. CLEAR CONTAINERS

These containers are great for storing food in your pantry. Each time I go to the grocery store I empty almost everything from the original package.  This helps to keep things organized because the uniform shape of the containers is easier to stack than the awkward packaging your food typically comes in. Putting things such as flour, sugar, oatmeal, chocolate chips, etc. into these clear containers makes it easy to see when things are running low.  Slap a quick label on the container and you have yourself an organized pantry.

4. ACRYLIC DRAWER ORGANIZERS

I love how versatile these organizers from The Container Store are. They can be rearranged and stacked to fit any drawer.  I use them in my kitchen to organize cooking utensils and those awkward small kitchen gadgets. They are perfect in a bathroom for organizing cosmetics and hair accessories like those bobby pins you can’t ever seem to find.  Even a desk drawer can be quickly organized with these drawer organizers. Another advantage of these organizers is they are easy to clean. Drawers can easily become a black hole. These dividers give each item a particular space and help you find things quickly.

5. MASON JARS

Mason jars are everywhere. One look at Pinterest and you will find hundreds of different uses for these jars.  In my home, you will find them filled with cupcake liners in my pantry, cotton balls in my bathroom, and craft supplies in my office.  I always have extra mason jars around in various different sizes for all the little things that need an organized space.

6. CLOSET SYSTEMS AND OVER THE DOOR HANGERS

The ELFA system from The Container Store provides endless possibilities for closet organization.  They also have great solutions for over the door organizers.  These are great for everything from your pantry to organizing gift wrap. You don’t have to invest in this system though. There are other options such as an over the door shoe organizer. These are great for small items inside your bathroom cabinets, organizing craft supplies, or even to hold your cleaning supplies.  Utilizing the space on the back of a door adds valuable space when you are working with small closets or lack of storage.

7. OFFICE BOXES

If you have items that you want to keep hidden or want to have the ability to stack items that are not used as often, office boxes are the perfect solution. You can find these boxes in the perfect size to organize greeting cards or photos. Adding dividers inside of the boxes can make storing electrical cords and chargers easy. These boxes from IKEA are a great option.

I could go on and on about organizing supplies, but this list is a great starting point. The possibilities are endless when it comes to these organizing supplies.  I would love to hear from you. Leave a comment below. What are your areas of struggle when it comes to organizing?
